The terms we hold ourselves to, in plain words

Booking terms for Gammara Phinisi: pay a 50 percent deposit to hold your date and the balance 30 days before departure. Cancel at 60 days or more for 50 percent back, or at 30 to 59 days for 25 percent. If the boat cannot sail, you get an equal boat or a full refund.
Deposit and balance, with calendar dates
A date is held only when your deposit has arrived. Not before. The deposit is 50 percent of the trip price, and the balance is due 30 days before departure. Days are counted as calendar days and not working days, so a balance that falls due on a Sunday is still due on that Sunday, whatever the bank does.
Both payments go to PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, the company named on your quote. You choose the channel: a card payment link (3 percent fee), PayPal (7.2 percent fee), Wise, Revolut, QRIS or bank transfer. Where there is a fee, the quote shows it before you pay.
Prices include 11 percent VAT, and a private-charter price is for the whole boat. Park tickets are never inside a boat price. We quote the park package separately for your trip type, and guide and documentation are not part of a private-charter price: on request, quoted separately.
Nothing is added without a written quote. If a figure changes, we tell you before the date it falls due, in the chat where the original quote sits.

Deposit 50% to confirm, balance 30 days before departure. You can also settle the balance in Labuan Bajo on the departure day, in cash or by card on the EDC machine. Fees: card payment link 3%, PayPal 7.2%, EDC card machine 3%. Your issuing bank may add its own charges.
Cancelling, or shifting the sailing
If you cancel 60 days or more before departure, we refund 50 percent. From 30 to 59 days we refund 25 percent. Inside 30 days there is no refund. We say this plainly because a surprise at that point helps nobody, least of all two people planning a honeymoon on a date they cannot easily move.
If you would rather move than cancel, the rule is kinder. A change of date made 30 days or more before departure is free. From 14 to 29 days before departure the change costs IDR 500,000. Inside 14 days a change is treated as a cancellation. That is firm.
Send every request in writing on the main chat, so that the date of the request is clear to both of us.
These are our terms, and they apply to you from the day you pay. The captain can also change a stop for weather on the day. That is a different matter, covered in the next section, and it is not a cancellation by you.

The substitute-boat table, row by row
Four situations, four answers. The wording is fixed, and it reads: an equal or higher class phinisi, the same date, no extra charge, or a full refund. Refunds are normally transferred within 2 x 24 hours of the conditions being met. Short, and meant literally.
- The boat cannot sail before your date (breakdown, survey, a harbour or park order): we offer an equal or higher class phinisi on the same date at no extra charge, or a full refund. We normally transfer the refund within 2 x 24 hours once its conditions are met. We confirm the replacement in writing before you decide.
- You decline the replacement: a full refund. The money is normally back within 2 x 24 hours of the conditions being met.
- Weather or force majeure once you are at sea: case by case, in writing. The captain changes the stops and the anchorage, and we do not state a refund percentage in advance.
- You cancel: the schedule above, 50 percent at 60 days or more, 25 percent at 30 to 59 days, none inside 30 days.
We confirm the replacement in writing, with its details, before you decide.
Under-threes, insurance, identity papers
Children aged 0 to 2 travel free when accompanied. From age 3, a child pays the full fare. Tell us the age of every child when you ask for a quote.
Travel insurance is recommended and is not part of any fare. For divers, dive insurance is mandatory.
Each guest needs a valid passport for the park and the harbour, and we need the details seven days before departure. We need them seven days ahead so that the permits are ready.
These terms are governed by the law of Indonesia. If anything on this page is unclear, ask before you pay. We would rather explain a term in the first week of planning than argue about it in the last.
