A luxury phinisi in Komodo is judged by what is printed. Gammara Phinisi prints 6 cabins, 12 guests, two king beds on the upper deck and a bathroom in every cabin. The longest priced route, 6D5N, costs IDR 170,000,000 (≈ USD 10,429) for the whole boat, or IDR 85,000,000 (≈ USD 5,215) each for two.
The VVIP label, tested line by line
Gammara sits in our VVIP class. Labels cost nothing. So on this page we hold that one up against the brochure and check it, line by line, the way a careful guest would before paying a deposit for a week aboard.
Length 30 m, beam 6 m. 6 cabins, 12 guests, 2 per cabin. In every cabin, a private bathroom with a hot and cold shower, and air conditioning. A dining lounge enclosed by large windows. An open social deck with space for yoga, a BBQ on board, a movie night or a small private event. On board: a paddle board, snorkel gear, towels.
Navigation listed: radar, echo sounder, GPS, VHF radio, compass. Safety listed: two life rafts, life jackets, an oxygen tank, a fire extinguisher, a first-aid kit. There the list ends. Each item can be checked. None is an adjective.

Two king beds, four doubles, six bathrooms
Upper deck: Jasmine, the Master Cabin, king bed, panoramic ocean view; and Lily, the Suite Cabin, king bed, ocean view. If you arrived here looking for a king bed, these two are what you were looking for.
Lower deck: four Deluxe cabins, Ivy, Azalea, Hazel and Iris, each with a double bed. The brochure states no sea view for them and claims none. Count it up and you get six cabins, six private bathrooms, six air conditioners. A king bed means one of the first two.
On a whole-boat charter both king cabins are yours, with no cabin surcharge. On the open trip the master fare is IDR 8,100,000 (≈ USD 497) per person and the suite fare is IDR 7,850,000 (≈ USD 482), two sharing.
The longest route, priced
Of the routes with a printed rate, 6D5N is the longest: IDR 170,000,000 (≈ USD 10,429) for the whole boat with 1 to 6 guests. Like every private trip of 4D3N or longer, it includes the beach dinner.
The sample, in brief. Day 1, Kelor and Manjarite. Day 2, Rinca with a ranger, then sunset at Kalong. Day 3, sunrise on Padar, Pink Beach and Komodo Island. Day 4, Taka Makassar, Manta Point and dinner on the beach. Day 5, Sebayur and Kanawa. Day 6, the harbour by morning. It is a sample; weather, tide and the captain fix the actual order.
Nights are at anchor, the place chosen by the captain with the weather. The prices for 7D6N and 8D7N are on the charter page; the route is planned with you in writing. Park tickets are quoted as a package with your trip and never sit inside the boat price.

Printed facts, and claims we decline to make
A bathtub, a balcony and a hot tub are not listed in the brochure, so we claim none of them. Nor does it list a butler, a spa, a gym or a chef. Local Wi-Fi is reported aboard; the signal depends on the boat's position, and no speed is promised.
Nor does it give cabin sizes, no year of building and no crew count, so neither do we. Where the source says nothing, we say that it says nothing, and wait.
Strip it back and this is what is left: two king beds, ocean views from the upper deck, six bathrooms and a whole boat for two. Need more? Then another boat will suit you better, and we will not be offended.
Service promises, in writing only
We only count something as a promise if it is in writing, dated and checkable. These are the things we will write down for you.
- The whole-boat price, in rupiah, with the date it was checked.
- The beach dinner setup on private trips of 4D3N or longer.
- A replacement: an equal or higher class phinisi on the same date at no extra charge, or a full refund, normally transferred within 2 x 24 hours once the conditions are met, if the boat cannot sail before your date.
- Every extra quoted before it is added.
And the things we will not promise: a clear sky, a manta, a dragon, a particular style of decoration, a faultless dinner. Weather is the captain's decision, and clouds can hide the stars. A private-charter price leaves out a guide and documentation; we quote them separately if you ask.
Rupiah each for two guests and for six
On 6D5N, IDR 85,000,000 (≈ USD 5,215) each for two guests; IDR 28,330,000 (≈ USD 1,738) each for six. Both come out of the same whole-boat price, IDR 170,000,000 (≈ USD 10,429). For comparison, two guests on 3D2N pay IDR 36,500,000 (≈ USD 2,239) each.
That figure buys the boat and stops there. Park tickets, a guide, documentation, drinks, flights and hotels are extra. Twelve guests at most; a bigger party needs a second boat. Checked on 3 November 2026.
Paying for more nights does not get you a better cabin. Night five has the same king bed as night one. The extra days simply give you longer with the deck, the table and the sky.

FAQ
Is a bath or a hot tub listed for the cabins?
A bathtub and a balcony are not listed in the brochure, and neither is a hot tub. Every cabin has its own bathroom with a hot and cold shower and air conditioning. We print only what the brochure prints, and we say so when it is silent.
What does a king bed mean on this boat?
King beds are in two cabins only: Jasmine, the Master Cabin with a panoramic ocean view, and Lily, the Suite Cabin with an ocean view, both on the upper deck. The four Deluxe cabins have double beds on the lower deck. Beds are fixed, and twin beds are not listed.
What is served at meals, and can the boat cater for diets?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included, with free-flow coffee, tea and mineral water, snacks and fruit. The brochure does not print a menu. Tell us about diets and allergies before departure, and we confirm in writing what the kitchen can do.
