A honeymoon on a whole phinisi, with the price already written down

The figure first. The whole of Gammara Phinisi for 3D2N costs IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479), the band for one to six guests. Two of you pay what six would pay, and nobody else sleeps aboard. That single line of the rate card prices the boat, not the passenger. Checked on 3 November 2026.

Halved, it is IDR 36,500,000 (≈ USD 2,239) each. It buys six cabins, a dining lounge wrapped in windows, an open social deck, a paddle board, a 7 m tender, and the crew with a cruise director.

Outside it: the Komodo park package, a guide, and photo or video documentation, which we quote on request. Paying by card adds 3 percent. Twelve guests is the ceiling; a larger party needs a second boat.

Two of the six cabins are on the upper deck. Master Cabin Jasmine has a king bed and a panoramic ocean view; Suite Cabin Lily has a king bed and an ocean view. Each has its own bathroom with a hot and cold shower, and air conditioning.

Downstairs are the four Deluxe cabins: Ivy, Azalea, Hazel and Iris. Double beds, no stated sea view. On a private charter all six cabins are yours, with no surcharge on any.

19:40. The boat is at anchor, the generator down to a hum, the deck lights off for ten minutes. Two people lie on the upper deck with a red torch between them, and the Milky Way climbs over an island to the south, cloud permitting.

The 2026 brochure prints one line we quote to every honeymoon couple: a beach dinner setup comes with any private trip of 4D3N or longer. It is why we nudge couples towards four days. On our sample route it falls on day 3, after the last snorkel, and the captain picks the beach after reading the weather and the tide.

Four days on the whole boat costs IDR 100,000,000 (≈ USD 6,135), or IDR 50,000,000 (≈ USD 3,067) each for two. Against 3D2N you pay for a fourth day and that dinner ashore. Neither 3D2N nor the open trip includes it.

Decorations, a cake or a photographer are not listed for this boat. We can arrange them and quote each one before it is added. Quoted, not promised.

Kalong sunset, November: 18:01. Padar sunrise, November: 05:31. Both in WITA; we send the pair for any month.

Our 3D2N route leaves Labuan Bajo harbour and returns to it, 3 days and 2 nights inside Komodo National Park. Day 1 is Kelor, Manjarite and the sun going down at Kalong. Day 2 starts on Padar at first light, then Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day 3 is a swim at Kanawa and the harbour at about 12:00. Both nights are at anchor, in a bay the captain chooses that day.

Sky note. The bats leave Kalong about 15 minutes after sunset, so be on deck before then. New moon nights are the darkest; we can tell you where the moon will be on yours.

Everything happens on WhatsApp. Send your dates, how many of you there are and how long you want aboard. We reply with availability and a written quote. Nothing is held or charged until you have read it and agreed the dates. We are on chat Daily 08:00–20:00 (WITA).

A deposit of 50 percent secures the date; the rest is paid 30 days before you sail. Card link, PayPal, Wise, Revolut, QRIS and bank transfer all work; the booking page lists each fee.

For your flight: we meet you at Komodo Airport or your hotel between 09:00 and 09:30, and the boat leaves between 10:00 and 11:00. Arrive the day before. On 3D2N the boat is back around 12:00 on the last day, so fly home after 15:00.

If Gammara cannot sail on your date, you are offered an equal or higher class phinisi on the same date at no extra charge, or a full refund. Refunds are normally transferred within 2 x 24 hours of the conditions being met.

Most couples want the honeymoon page first; it walks the 4D3N sample against sunrise and sunset. Two pairs sharing one boat will find the couples page. Families, photographers, teams, friends and solo travellers each get a page with the days shaped around them.

So does every stop. Padar is the sunrise climb, Kalong the bats at dusk, Pink Beach and Taka Makassar the snorkels, Komodo the ranger-led dragon walk, Manta Point the drift along the current. Each has a page of its own, with the times that suit it. Dragons are wild and nobody can guarantee a sighting; nor do we promise manta rays. On every landing the captain and the park rangers set the pace.

Gammara is right for a honeymoon couple who wants the whole boat and a king bed with an ocean view upstairs. It is right for a private trip of four days or more with the beach dinner. A party of up to twelve fits too, and so does a pair on the open trip booking one cabin.

It falls short for more than 12 guests, and for anyone who needs a bathtub, since no cabin has one. There is local Wi-Fi, but the signal goes where the boat goes in the park. A solo traveller cannot buy one open-trip seat; the minimum booking is two.
