How to book a private phinisi on Gammara Phinisi: message us on WhatsApp with dates, guests and trip length, pay a 50 percent deposit to hold the date, and settle the balance 30 days before departure. Card, PayPal, Wise, Revolut, QRIS and bank transfer are accepted. Checked on 3 November 2026.
First message to held date, in order
We take bookings on WhatsApp and nowhere else. The site has no checkout and no form asking for your card. Tap the chat button on this site and tell us three things: your dates, how many are sailing, and how many days you want aboard.
You get availability and a quote in writing, with the boat price, the park package for your trip and every extra you mentioned set out on separate lines. Once you accept it, the deposit request follows. The moment the deposit arrives, the date is yours.
Four steps, then: message, quote, deposit, date held. We are on chat Daily 08:00–20:00 (WITA). Ask whatever you like before any money moves. Taking your time costs nothing, and moving fast needs only those three facts, a quote, and your yes.

A deposit of 50 percent of the booking secures the date. The remainder is due 30 days before you sail. Both due dates go into the quote, so you can see exactly when each payment falls.
If you would rather settle in person, the balance can be paid in Labuan Bajo on the morning you sail, in cash or by card on the EDC machine, which adds 3 percent. If you go the cash route, bring rupiah.
Change your date 30 days or more ahead and there is no charge; between 14 and 29 days it costs IDR 500,000. Any later than that and we have to treat it as a cancellation. VAT at 11 percent is already in the price, so no tax line will turn up afterwards.

Deposit 50% to confirm, balance 30 days before departure. You can also settle the balance in Labuan Bajo on the departure day, in cash or by card on the EDC machine.
Verification and payment: company, channel, fee per route of payment
Before sending money to a company, check who it is. We are PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363. We have two official WhatsApp numbers, both listed on this site, and we never ask you to pay through any other. The reviews page shows guest words about our company, with sources named. It holds none about this boat yet.
Ways to pay: card payment link, PayPal, Wise, Revolut, QRIS or bank transfer. Fees are 3 percent on the card link, 7.2 percent on PayPal and 3 percent on the card machine in Labuan Bajo. Some banks charge something extra on their side.
Where the terms give you a refund, it is normally transferred within 2 x 24 hours once the conditions are met. Every payment is acknowledged in writing in the chat. One habit worth keeping: check that the name on the payment request reads PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia. If it says anything else, do not pay, and ask us first.

When the plan has to move
Weddings move, flights move, life moves. Shift your date 30 days or more ahead and it is free, for any reason, with the new date confirmed in the chat. From 14 to 29 days the fee is IDR 500,000. Cancelling returns 50 percent at 60 days or more and 25 percent at 30 to 59 days; inside 30 days nothing is returned.
Sometimes the change comes from our side. If the boat cannot sail on your date, you are offered an equal or higher class phinisi for that date at no extra charge, or a full refund if you prefer. The money normally reaches you within 2 x 24 hours of the conditions being met. We put it in writing first, and you are free to say no to the replacement.
The full table is on our booking terms page. Weather after you have sailed is dealt with case by case, in writing, while the captain adjusts the stops and the anchorage to the sea.
Passport copies, and the final week before boarding
Seven days before boarding we need a copy of every guest's passport or ID. The park and the harbour both ask for it, and the harbour sets its own arrival rules. Plan to reach Labuan Bajo the day before; then a delayed flight cannot eat into your first morning.
Flights, in short: the meeting is at Komodo Airport or your hotel between 09:00 and 09:30, and the boat leaves between 10:00 and 11:00. A 3D2N trip ends at the harbour around 12:00 on the last day, so book the flight home after 15:00. On a private charter, boarding and finishing times can follow your flights.
Everything we will ask you for is on this page. In the last week, that comes to four things:
- Passport or ID copies for each guest.
- Flight numbers, so we can plan the pickup and the last day.
- Food needs, which you tell us before departure.
- Your hotel in Labuan Bajo, if the pickup is from there.
Anything that is not on this page, we do not ask for.

How do we reserve Gammara, and how much is the deposit?

How can we pay from abroad, and what do the fees come to?
Use a card payment link (3 percent), PayPal (7.2 percent), Wise, Revolut, QRIS or a bank transfer. In Labuan Bajo the balance can go on the card machine at 3 percent, or in cash. Your bank can add its own charges.
What do we pay again if the boat is swapped for another?
Nothing. If Gammara cannot sail on your date, we offer an equal or higher class phinisi on the same date at no extra charge, or a full refund. We normally transfer the refund within 2 x 24 hours once its conditions are met. We confirm the swap in writing before you decide.
How far ahead should we write for a honeymoon date?
The moment your dates are settled. Availability is confirmed live on WhatsApp, and the deposit is what holds the date. July, August and December are the busiest months in the park, so ask earlier for those.
