How many days for a Komodo honeymoon on a private boat: 3D2N, 4D3N or 5D4N

Gammara's brochure prints the 3D2N sample route. Day 1 meets at 09:00 to 09:30, then climbs Kelor, stops at Manjarite and ends with sunset at Kalong. Day 2 is long: sunrise on Padar, snorkelling at Pink Beach, the dragon walk on Komodo, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day 3 snorkels at Kanawa and is back at the harbour around 12:00.

It suits a tight calendar and takes in every name people ask about. The boat costs IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479).

The cost of that compression is day 2, with five stops between a dawn climb and the evening. Two nights also carry no beach dinner, because the brochure attaches it to private trips of 4D3N or longer.

Sky note. Padar sunrise comes at 06:18 in July and 05:31 in November. A dawn climb in the dry season starts in the dark, whatever the month.

On the 4D3N sample route, days 1 and 2 stay as they are and day 3 moves more slowly. Taka Makassar and Manta Point come first, then Sebayur, and the beach dinner setup closes the day. Day 4 snorkels at Kanawa and returns to Labuan Bajo around midday.

Gammara's brochure prints the dinner as part of private trips of 4D3N or longer. It does not say which day it falls on, so the third day is our sample placing. We confirm the day in writing before you pay, and weather can still move it by a day.

The boat price is IDR 100,000,000 (≈ USD 6,135), which is 27 million rupiah more than 3D2N. For a honeymoon this is the length where the schedule loosens: day 2 loses two stops to day 3, and the evening of day 3 has a purpose. The park package for 4D3N is 750 thousand rupiah per foreign guest and 350 thousand per Indonesian guest.

Past 4D3N, the added days buy slack more than new places. The 5D4N sample adds Rinca, a second dragon walk, and an unhurried day around Sebayur. The 6D5N sample moves the dragon walk and the Kalong sunset to day 2 and leaves day 6 for the morning return.

Slack matters because the sea decides. According to Detik, the harbour authority closed Komodo and Padar to tourist boats from 6 to 8 August 2026 for strong winds and waves up to 2.4 metres, and left Rinca open. A longer trip can reorder stops around a closure like that. A short one has less room.

Boat prices are IDR 135,000,000 (≈ USD 8,282) on 5D4N and IDR 170,000,000 (≈ USD 10,429) on 6D5N, each step 35 million rupiah above the last. Park package figures for these two lengths are written into the quote, because our published rows stop at 4D3N.

Start from the day you could least bear to give up, and only then look at the budget. A couple with exactly four days between flights should not squeeze a 4D3N into them, because the buffer night and the flight home both need room.

• Four days free, one trip: 3D2N. You see the classic stops once and fly home.
• The dinner on sand matters: 4D3N, the shortest private length that includes it.
• One light day: 5D4N. Ask us to keep a day with fewer stops, spent on deck with the paddle board, a book and no alarm.
• A longer holiday on one boat: 6D5N, with the sunrise on Padar, the Kalong sunset and the dragons spread over six days.

All sample routes are labelled samples. Weather, tides and the captain decide the order on the day, and the captain's decision stands.

Add the nights at either end. A 3D2N charter with a buffer night before it is 3 nights in all, one in a hotel and two aboard, then the flight home on day 3 after 15:00. A 4D3N charter with the same buffer is 4 nights in all.

Day 1 meets at 09:00 to 09:30 and the boat leaves between 10:00 and 11:00. On a private charter the start and the finish can be adjusted to flights, so tell us your flight numbers when you book and we set the times in writing.
